Chesapeake Swim Call
25 June 2026
Much like yesterday, we sailed off the anchor this morning - the fact that this is getting routine is a testament to the ship and the crew. No more tacking chaos was had, and instead we sailed further up into chesapeake bay, enjoying not using the motor. Striking the fore course and lower tops’l, we then dodged crab pots into our anchorage for the night and sailed on to the anchoragain, pointing into the wind and backing our sails to set it. After furling all of the fore squares save for the royal (a large effort not really worthy of just one sentence), we put the jacob’s ladder over the side and had a swim call; the water temperature was perfect, and we jumped off the head deck into the bay below. After drying off, we ended the night with a showing of The Goonies on the mizzen stays’l.
